Our Sustainable Campus
THE UNIQUE EXPERIENCE OF LIVING ON OUR SUSTAINABLE CAMPUS IN A SPIRITUAL AND INTENTIONAL ECOVILLAGE ENCOURAGES STUDENTS TO DISCOVER THINGS ABOUT THEMSELVES AND ASK QUESTIONS OF PHILOSOPHICAL SIGNIFICANCE.
Sustainable campus housing is provided on-site within the residential buildings of UASPR. Students enjoy living in an oasis within the desert, within walking distance of the campus' agricultural fields and settled between beautifully tended botanical gardens.
The mission of our university is to create an ideal prototype of eco-community living that minimizes our personal impact on the environment, which we define as "an intentional community dedicated to applying principles of sustainability in all areas of human endeavor."
Principles of eco-community living and sustainability are highlighted in each program of study so that students are taught not just textbook facts but also learn to solve real-world problems with effective and practical solutions.
We offer the skills and strategic thinking required to find answers for the ecological, economic, and social challenges of today's world.
Students graduate each class with a sense of earned empowerment to make a difference in the communities they return to. Living on campus engenders a spirit of appreciation and awe for the delicate and beautiful world we all call home.
